VOLUNTEER meeting 16th September 2026

Sue welcomed everyone to the Meeting and explained that most of the Meeting would be taken over with discussion about the forthcoming 5th Anniversary Celebrations.
1. Matters from previous Meeting:
a) Ambience- there were now some re-chargeable lamps on small tables.
b) A1-5 labels have been printed and will become more apparent during the ‘5 Year Celebratory’ period as they will be on all cups and popcorn cartons.
c) Gaps between films had not been causing any problems and when it is very busy 2 volunteers are scheduled into the Rota.
d) Equipment for people with hearing impairment and also visual impairment -same piece of kit for both is under volunteer desk. Suggest that you get FOH to run through what to do if you need to help someone. They have had training.
e) Photos of directors and most of staff are now at the back of the ‘Paperwork Book’ on the Volunteer desk.
f) There was a request that when new FOH staff join the team that a Welcome/Info message is put on Rota Central to let Volunteers know.
g) There is a new generic email address:
New Platform for buying tickets/website
This has changed recently (beginning of September) and there have been one or two issues. There have been difficulties with signing ‘back’ into the system as a member for example. Also, the new information Screens at the back of the Volunteer Desk (Special Film dates and Lounge Activities) are difficult to see quickly and clearly. The access to ‘film information and special events’ on mobiles phones has changed too and is less visible.
There is a piece of paper on the desk for Comments. Please report any issues
5th Anniversary Celebrations.
There have been meetings about this since February and things are mostly in place. There are events starting on October 8 through to 12th.
Jackie described the plans and there will be more detail on Rota Central. So please look at this. If you are interested in helping, please contact Jackie Fahy on: Jackie.fahy@talk21.com
She will be setting up a separate WhatsApp A15 Volunteers group for communicating about tasks/timings etc and keeping folk up to date.
We hope that the 5th Anniversary Celebrations will be fun, well supported and raise money for the Cinema, please get involved!
