Our 2nd crowdfunding campaign is COMING SOON….
This latest phase of our campaign is called the Acton Pop-Up.
The launch date is 8th February. Please take a look at the project page to find out more about what the funds will do - and “like” our project.
In keeping with foreseeable restrictions on entertainment venues the plan is to begin transformation of the Old Library on the High Street with a pop-up cinema.
We’ll do this with the experience and support of Oliver Meek behind us. As Chief Exec of the Rio Cinema in Dalston he’s been over the course on both sides of the pandemic. The Rio’s programming and box-office systems will key in too. Whatever helps the pop-up get up and running can be adapted for the post-Covid era marooned for now on the horizon.
Having got through the design, planning and legal hurdles, we’re excited now to be fundraising for the equipment and fittings for the pop-up’s single screen and bar/café. The project will have distanced seats and be ‘Covid-19’ prepared from the start. Specifically this phase will:
Get us safely back into the building!
Support buying the screen, projector, seats, acoustic drapes, etc
Allow us to be flexible - adding more seats, as restrictions evolve
Help establish revenue streams with minimum outlay
Demonstrate viability to crucial investors
This is the best way we can together wring invention from necessity…
Please encourage your family, friends and neighbours to join up on the website so we can keep everyone to speed on progress. Many have already donated - but anything more you can spare for this transformative project would be a massive boost. PLEASE spread the word so we can attract new supporters and funders.
