Streaming During Lockdown

Putting aside the fact that you are stuck in your home and that there is, as yet, no cinema in Acton, we wanted to remind you that there are several ways in which you can access new and classic movies from around the world. And you can support your favourite independent cinema in the process.

The Arthouse, the Lexi and the Rio are all offering a free trial membership to MUBI if you join through their websites

https://mubi.com

They are also offering a discounted membership to Curzon Home Cinema. https://www.curzonhomecinema.com

And you can watch new releases – The Perfect Candidate and System Crasher with Modern Films. When you make your purchase, you will be asked to choose an independent cinema and part of the profit will go directly to that cinema.

https://www.modernfilms.com

We also recommend the BFI Player https://player.bfi.org.uk as an excellent way of accessing a wide range of cinema. The service offers specially shot introductions from Tilda Swinton and Mark Kermode as well as ‘Parasite’ director Bong Joon-Ho and new releases include BAFTA-winning Mark Jenkin's ‘Bait' and the Oscar-nominated ‘Harriet’. There is a free 2-week trial currently available.
